5 July 1963 Air France introduced new rules: Stewardesses were allowed to marry, but must accept to be sent away from home for 2 weeks at a time. 5 July 1979 French aviation pioneer and aircraft manufacturer Emile Dewoitine died, at the age of 87. 5 July 1983 The first ex-British Airways Lockheed L-1011-500 TriStars converted into tanker-transports entered service with the RAF. 5 July 1995 The first Panavia Tornado F.3 leased from the Royal Air Force entered service with the Italian Air Force. |
