6 July 1974 The Aerospatiale/Westland SA.341 Gazelle entered service with the UK Army, equipping No.660 Squadron, Army Air Corps. 6 July 1976 The Soviet Union launched Soyuz 21 to dock with Salyut 5 in orbit. Cosmonauts Boris Volynov and Vitali Zholobov carried out a 49 day 5 hour 24 minute space mission.
